The drug is available as three separate pills costing the patient about Rs 20,000 ($475) annually. Matrix Labs will supply the drug at a discounted price of $425, starting next year as it proposes to sell three pills in a package. The new product is available to governments that are members of the Clinton Foundation’s Procurement Consortium across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The products will include the first-ever heat-stable version of Ritonavir (one of the three pills), which does not require continuous refrigeration for its transport and distribution.
