Supreme Court stops CBSE from declaring the Pre Medical Test results till June 10

The Supreme Court of India has asked Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to withhold the results of AIPMT - the All India Pre Medical Tests till 10th June. The order was passed by a vacation bench on the PILs filed by some students claiming to be affected by the alleged leakage during the exams conducted last month. The result of AIPMT was scheduled to be announced on 5th June. The bench comprising of Justice Prafulla C Pant and Amitava Roy has granted a week to the Haryana Police to ascertain the number of beneficiaries in this case. This will enable the court to assess if CBSE needs to hold the fresh AIPMT exams as demanded by the petitioners.
The case goes back to the day of exam when Haryana Police had arrested 4 persons with answer keys of the exam, which they were found passing on to some students using Bluetooth technology during the exam held on 3rd May. Meanwhile CBSE had issued a press release stating that the “There have been news reports recently, in certain section of media alleging leakage of AIPMT paper held on 3rd May 2015. It is informed in the interest of all the candidates who appeared in this examination and general public that there has been no leakage of the question paper what so ever”.
