India’s first dedicated investment and manufacturing zone will be set up in Rajasthan along the upcoming Mumbai-Delhi national corridor.
The announcement was made by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at a joint press conference.
Mr Sharma said a task force has been constituted to work on modalities and project-related other aspects and would submit its report to the industry ministry within the next three months.
He said the government wanted that work on this ambitious project should begin within the current year.
Mr Sharma was in town to present 36th annual export excellence promotion award on behalf of the gem and jewellery export promotion council.
Mr Gehlot presided over the award ceremony.
