GLENMARK GETS USFDA NOD FOR ANTI-HYPERTENSION PILL

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has said that its American arm has received the final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Moexipril Hydrochloride tablets used for treating hypertension. The USFDA has granted the final approval for tablets to the company’s group firm Glenmark Generics Inc, Glenmark Pharma said in a statement to NSE. The tablets are generic version of Schwarz Pharma’s Uniretic. “The product is currently available and will begin shipping immediately,” Glenmark said. Total sales for this combination during the 12-month period ending December 2009 were $8 million, according to IMS Health. The latest approval comes shortly after Glenmark got the final approval for Ropinirole Hydrochloride tablets, the generic version of GSK’s Requip tablets.
