Saab, the Swedish defence products major, has entered into an alliance with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for software services in aeronautical design. An Aeronautical Design Development Centre (ADDC) is being set up in Bangalore as part of the tie-up. Officials from both the firms maintain that the pact will run for some years. Saab International vice-president (India) Jan Widerstrom said that this venture will work on generic aerospace design including both military and civilian aircraft. The ADDC will provide engineering, services and solutions to address opportunities in structures, systems, avionics and after market support. Besides, it will also work on the aerostructural design and development of SaaB’s multi-role combat aircraft Gripen.
