BHARTI TELESOFT ACQUIRES JATAAYU

Bharti Telesoft, a provider of integrated VAS solutions for mobile operators, has acquired the Bangalore headquartered Jataayu Software, a WAP and mobile handset applications player. According to a release, the acquisition was part of the company's growth strategy, which is focused on strengthening its service offerings in new and existing markets. However, the value of the deal was not disclosed. Jataayu's wholly-owned subsidiary in the US and offices in the UK, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea will be added to Bharti Telesoft's existing operations across Africa, the Middle East and AsiaPac regions. Bharti Telesoft will now have a presence in 14 countries.
