HYDERABAD-BASED SUVEN LIFE GETS FIRST US PATENT FOR CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM COMPOUNDS

Hyderabad-based contract research and manufacturing services firm Suven Life Sciences has received its product patent in the US. The patent has been awarded for a selective group of serotonin receptor compounds which can be used to treat diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). According to the patent disclosure, these compounds are useful in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's Parkinson, Schizophrenia and Huntington's. Suven has so far filed 29 product patent applications through the patent convention treaty for more than 145 countries.
