IDEA AWARDS RS 600-CR CONTRACT TO NSN
IDEA Cellular, which is close to getting spectrum in Bihar, has awarded a Rs 600-crore ($150 million) million networks contract to Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to build and manage its network in the state. Idea had recently awarded a Rs 400-crore ($100 million) fouryear contract to Swedish networks major Ericsson to build and maintain its networks in the Mumbai circle. The Department of Telecom (DoT) has cleared Idea's application for spectrum in both circles and the company is expected to launch mobile services in 2008.
