GTL INTERNATIONAL ACQUIRES MALAYSIAN NETWORKING CO FOR $25M

GTL International, the wholly owned international subsidiary of GTL, has acquired ADA Cellworks, a network planning and optimisation player in Malaysia, for $25 million in an all cash transaction. ADA Cellworks has significant presence in China, Indonesia, Taiwan apart from India in the telecom networking space. "With this acquisition, we have progressed further on our inorganic growth strategy and strengthened our presence in the high value segments of network planning and optimisation," GTL chairman and managing director Manoj Tirodkar said. The deal will conclude in the next few weeks subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition would look to strengthen the services of network planning and design, network operations and maintenance, and professional services of GTL, it said in a statement.
