GLENMARK, LUPIN, ORCHID CHEMICAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL AND AUROBINDO PHARMA GET FDA NOD FOR KEPPRA GENERICS

Four pharma companies — Glenmark, Lupin, Orchid Chemical and Pharmaceutical and Aurobindo Pharma — said they have received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for marketing levetiracctam tablets used in the treatment of seizures associated with Epilepsy. They have got the approval of FDA for marketing and distributing these tablets in US in 250 mg, 500 mg, 750 mg and 1000 mg strengths, these companies said in a statement. Levetiracctam tablets are the generic equivalents of UCB Pharmaceuticals' Keppra tablets and the total annual market for such tablets is approximately $1.2 billion in US alone.
