DSCI FORMS COMMITTEE ON DATA SECURITY NORMS
Data Security Council of India (DSCI), the independent self regulatory body set up by Nasscom, has formed a steering committee to look into the standards of data security and protection. The 21-member committee had its first meeting last month and has set up sub-groups to look into the current security status of organisations, preparing the business model for DSCI and drafting model contract templates, to be used by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Nasscom announced the setting up of DSCI in April 2007 to enable Indian IT/ITeS organisations to provide high standard of security and data protection by adopting best practices and to develop, monitor and enforce an appropriate security and data protection standard for the industry.
