SAP ACQUIRES YASU
Enterprise software major SAP AG has acquired Hyderabad based business rules management systems firm YASU Technologies for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition will help NYSE listed SAP enhance its business process management offerings. The deal will be closed by this month. SAP is also looking at acquiring more companies for technology so that it can enhance its product offerings.
"We will use YASU's technologies to enable our customers to consistently apply business rules to their business processes across heterogeneous computing environments. This will provide our customers agility and increase their independence to create solutions while ensuring compliance," said SAP Net Weaver vice-president Wolfgang Hilpert.
YASU has three products and 120 employees. The company had recorded revenues of around $10 million last year, though both YASU and SAP declined to reveal the financial status of the company. "We have 100 customers and 70% of our customers are in the US and the rest in Europe. The acquisition will help us to reach out to more customers as SAP has about 40,000 customers worldwide, said YASU CEO Satish Madhira.
Post-acquisition, Satish, one of the six promoters of YASU will become part of SAP team. Both the companies are still working out the marketing strategy for YASU's existing products.
