CALYX TO SET UP RS 40-CRORE R&D CENTRE IN MUMBAI
Drug firm Calyx Chemical and Pharmaceutical is investing Rs 40 crore to set up a research and development centre in Dombivily near Mumbai as part of its plans to expand its research and manufacturing services business. "Going forward, we want to expand our Contract Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS) capability and would invest Rs 40 crore in setting up a R&D centre near Mumbai," Calyx Chemical and Pharmaceutical president (R&D) and executive director Bansi Lal said. He added that the R&D centre would employ up to 300 scientists and is expected to be operational by early next year. The company is half way through construction and installation of equipment at the centre, he added.
