GENPACT TOPS NASSCOM'S TOP 15 EXPORTERS
GENPACT has retained its top slot in software and services industry association Nasscom's annual rankings of the top 15 ITeS-BPO exporters in the country. Mumbai-based WNS Global Services took the number two slot in the rankings based on export revenues for the fiscal 2006-07.
TransWorks Information Services, a AV Birla Group company, jumped to third position this year from fifteen last year, helped by the acquisition of Canada's largest BPO -Minacs Worldwide- in August 2006. It's followed by IBM Daksh, ranked fourth against sixth last year, and fifth-ranked TCS BPO, which moved up from 14th position last year. Wipro BPO slipped to sixth slot this year from third position last year.
The list doesn't include some companies whose corporate headquarters are located outside India, but have significant India based delivery capabilities, and have not shared their India-based revenue figures. These include names such as Convergys and Sutherland Global Services.
In FY07, the Indian ITES-BPO segment grew by 33.5%, contributing $8.4 billion to the total software and services exports of $31.4 billion. Nasscom expects the segment to grow at about 30% in fiscal 2007-08 to clock exports of $10.5-11 billion. The domestic market for ITeS-BPO grew to $1.2 billion in FY07 from $0.9 billion in the previous year.
