BCCL INKS STRATEGIC TIE-UP WITH WASSERSTEIN INDIA

Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd (BCCL), the publisher of The Economic Times and The Times Of India, has entered into a strategic tie-up with Wasserstein India through its Times Private Treaties. The alliance between BCCL and Wasserstein is targeted at creating investment opportunities that capitalise upon Times Private Treaties expertise in identifying potential companies, both companies said in statement. Wasserstein India is the investment arm of New York-based merchant banker Wasserstein & Co., which has a long history of investing in media and consumer businesses in the US. As a part of the tieup, Times Private Treaties and Wasserstein India would jointly invest in select Indian companies and help them become market leaders using their complementary operational expertise.
