TIMPL WINS DELHI AIRPORT AD DEAL

DELHI INTERNATIONAL Airport Private Limited (DIAL) has awarded the licence for the advertisement locations at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, to Times Innovative Media Private Limited (TIMPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL) which operates FM radio broadcasting stations under the brand Radio Mirchi. According to analysts, Delhi airport is expected to emerge as India's largest airport platform with passenger traffic of approximately 22 million by 2009.

The licence involves designing, setting up, development and maintenance of the advertisement locations for three years, and covers approximately 150 display sites inside the terminal buildings, approach roads, hoardings around terminals & advertising options inside the terminal buildings & aerobridges.

"We are happy to associate with TIMPL for advertising at Delhi airport. As part of country's leading media house, Times Innovative Media brings with it understanding and rich experience in advertising. We are sure it will help us bring global advertising standards to India. The association will synergise with DIAL's vision of creating a world-class airport at Delhi," DIAL's managing director Srinivas Bommidala said after the award was announced.

"We are delighted to win the licence for the advertising locations at Indira Gandhi International Airport. This is the first advertising rights licence to be awarded after the privatisation of the Delhi airport and was keenly bid by several out-of-home media players including global players," said TIMPL director A P Parigi. "Delhi is a very important market for us and winning this contract is a definitive step in the direction that we are heading," he added.

TIMPL operates its out-of-home media business under the brand name Times OOH Media. Times OOH media has recently put up two LED screens at Mumbai airport. The company has been among the leaders in introducing innovative technologies such as LEDs in outdoor advertising.

ENIL is a leading city-centric media company and is listed on the BSE and NSE. Incorporated in June, 1999, ENIL operates FM radio broadcasting stations under the Radio Mirchi brand in 10 Indian cities. The company has its headquarters in Mumbai. ENIL has a wholly-owned subsidiary, TIMPL, through which it manages its out-ofhome media business brand Times OOH Media and experiential marketing business brand 360 o Experience. Its promoter, Bennett, Coleman & Co Limited, is the flagship company of The Times Group, which has a heritage of over 150 years and is one of India's leading media groups.

DIAL is a joint venture company comprising the GMR Group, Airports Authority of India, Fraport, Malaysian Airport and India Development Fund. DIAL is working towards modernisation and restructuring of the Delhi Airport. The project being developed by DIAL under Public Private Partnership (PPP) has been given the mandate to finance, design, build, operate and maintain the Delhi Airport for 30 years with an option to extend it by another 30 years. The GMR Group, the main promoter of DIAL, is also developing a greenfield international airport at Hyderabad.
