The Central Bureau of Investigation has submitted its report on the Rizwanur Rahman mysterious death case before Calcutta High Court.

The central investigating agency placed the report before the bench of Justice Dipankar Dutta. The next date of hearing has been fixed on January 11.

The CBI conducted a probe into the "mysterious" death of the computer graphics designer and teacher Rizwanur Rahman under an order by the High Court dated October 16.

The agency was asked to submit a report within a month, which expired in mid-December. CBI had asked flor mopre time from the court to complete the detailed investigation to which the court had allowed time till today to submit the report.

The computer graphics teacher was found dead beside the railway tracks in the eastern part of the city on September 21. His family alleged that he had been murdered and his father-in-law Ashok Todi then became the centre of suspicion.

CBI had filed a case against Mr Todi and five policemen in this connection.

An advocate of the high court said that the report was very important since it reveals the wounds and injury marks on Rizwanur's body.
