ORACLE NAMED LEADING RELATIONAL DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (RDBMS)VENDOR IN INDIA
Oracle has announced that it has been named the leading Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) vendor in India and Asia pacific excluding Japan, based on first half 2007 Asia Pacific software revenues by IDC In IDC's "Asia/pacific Semi-Annual Software Tracker, September 2007" report, Oracle is the Asia Pacific market leader with 53% market share, growing 19% year-over-year to reach $373 million in software revenue in first half of 2007. It has strengthened its market share lead by nearly four percent over its second half 2006 figure of 50%. The company commands more than double the market share of its nearest competitor in the RDBMS market who has 21%. In India, Oracle leads the RDBMS market with 63% market share. This is nearly thrice that of its nearest competitor who only has 23% share, a release said here.
